Wii: Virtual Conosle games – Europe – Friday December 21, 2007

Europe got three new Virtual Console games today, Friday, December 21 2007.

Blades of Steel
NES – 1990 by Konami – sports/ice hockey – 1-2 players – 500 points – age 7+

With sharpened blades and a lethal stick, you slash into a rink surrounded by thousands of screaming fans. It’s time for full-speed, high-contact hockey, the kind of bone jarring action played by the pros. The puck is dropped, you take control, center it and … Whoa! Your opponent viciously checks you from behind, making an incredible steal. You charge after him, crushing him against the boards. uddenly tempers flare, off come the gloves, and you’re swinging fists like a prize fighter! What action! This hard-hitting NES classic also features simultaneous play for two players – and you can even play goalie in the slap-shooting penalty scenes!

So strap on your Blades of Steel – and imagine those immortal words: “hes shoots, he scores!”

Monster Lair
Turbografx – 1990 by Hudson Soft – action/shooter – 1-2 players – 800 points – age 7+

Join young Adam and Laura as they embark on a fantastic adventure in this comical action-shooting game! You can either play alone as Adam, or play together with a friend controlling Laura.

The game consist of 12 Rounds, each consisting of two Scenes. First is the Action Scene, where you must use your Power Boost Weapons against cute monster enemies while avoiding obstacles and pits as you head for the gate at the end. This followed by the exhilarating Shooting Scene, a side scrolling shoot ’em up where you shoot down flying enemies and tjae out the monstrous end boss to clear the Round!

As well as cute, colourful graphics, Monster Lair features an acclaimed music score, reproduced exactly as it was on the original CD-ROM game.

Skate or Die
NES – 1990 by Konami – action/sports – 1-2 players – 500 points – age 3+

Hop on your board and take part in five extreme skate events!

The Downhill events include a normal Race and the dangerous Jam, a wild ride through the back alleys of town. Points are all that matter in Freestyle, so hit the ramp and perform as many tricks as you can. In highjump, try to jump as high as you can. Can you earn a place in the hall of fame? If you want to take a reak from racing and score-bursting, grab a Bopper (pugil stick) and take on your opponent in the unique Joust! (Don’t try this at home!)

You can play alone or challenge a friend in all of the events in this NES classic. So get ready for skating action like you’e never seen before!
