amazon_gamedownloads

Amazon.com opened their Game Downloads Store (beta) today. This is not big games, but smaller casual games. It looks like it’s US only (but I can be wrong).

Here is a quote from Amazon Game Room’s Blog:

Gamers, take note. Today we are pleased to announce the beta launch of the Amazon Game Downloads store, www.amazon.com/gamedownloads, our first step into the downloadable games space. Loaded with an ever-growing roster of casual gaming titles for your PC, the Amazon Game Downloads store features more than 600 games on day one, all priced under a tenspot at either $6.99 or $9.99. As a bonus for exploring our new Game Downloads store, for the next week we’re offering three free, full-version games – “Jewel Quest 2,” “The Scruffs” and “Build A Lot.”

If you miss out on this launch offer, not to worry  –  every game in our store is available for a free 30-minute trial.  We could tell you loads more about the range of games, and all the standard Amazon features you’d expect, but instead we’ll just say this: go play!

WiiWare – 30/01/2009 by Hudson Soft – puzzle – 1-4 players – 500 points – age 3+

SAMEGAME is simply yet engrossing puzzle game where you clear matching blocks in sets of 2 or more.

Score high by clearing out more blocks at once. If you manage to clear the entire grid, you can keep on playing with a whole new layout. Getting rid of all those blocks is the key to raking in the points!

Adjust the difficulty in a one-player game by trying different grid sizes and numbers of coours. Play it you way!

Up to 4 players can face off in any one of 3 multiplayer modes. “Fame Game”, the most straightforward choice, is similar to the one-player version. “Shame Game” turns the tables on the players, forcing them to go for the lovest score. Finaly, in “blame Game”, it’s a free-for-all as everyone vies for blocks on one big grid.

Choose from different block styles, background graphics and music, to customize your playing experience.

SAMEGAME: Easy to learn, easy to play… hard to put down!
