Europe got two new Virtual Console games this Friday January 11, 2008.

Alien Storm
Mega Drive – 1991 by Sega – action – 1-2 players – 800 points – age 7+

Shape-shifting aliens have infiltrated the city, creating chaos and panic! Fortunately, a trio of heroes called the Alien Busters have agreed to wipe the out the invading creatures!

Each member of the team wields their own special attacs to unload a world of hurt on the Martian menaces, from the city streets to the mothership, Gordon, a thoug guy with a bazooka, has a special gunship attack, while Karla has aflamethrower for alien scrisping – though she prefer to use her special ballistic missile attack. Finaly, Slammer the robot can self-destruct at will and attacks the invaders with an electric whip, as well as other devices.

Take the aliens by storm and ssave your city!

NES – 1992 by Nintendo – adventure – 1 player – 500 points – age 7+

Mike Jones is an ordinary kid who embarks on an extraordinary adventure! Invited by his archaeologist uncle to a tropical island, Mike arrives to find his uncle kidnapped, and vows the dark secrets lurkning in the island paradise.

StarTropics includes two main types of gameplay. Intravel types of gameplay. In travl stage, move Mike around the island on foot or in his uncle’s submarine. In battle stages, explore monster-riddenen caves using a varity of weapons and items.

Upon its original release, StarTropics included a letter from Mike’s uncle, which was needed to progress in the game. For the Virtual Console version, this letter has been reproduced in the Operations Guide, accessible from the HOME Menu.
