In the main Fight Course mode, race through 10 levels of winding highway and take out the enemies using your machine guns or blocking manoeuvres. In Endurance Mode, pit your survival skills against the clcok, or try Solo Course for an enemy-free ride.
Mach Rider also includes a Design mode, enabling you to design your own cources. In this Virtual Console version you can also save your courser, which was not possible in the original NES version.”
Blazing Lazers
Turbografx – 1992 by Hudson Soft – shooter – 1 player – 600 points
“Blazing Lazers is a vertical-scrolling shooter that was praised for surpassing the limitation of the hardware of it’s time. Players control the extraordinary firepower of their Gunhed Star Fighter to take on the Dark Squadron that has begun its invation of Earth. Collect power-ups to increase your ship’s battle strength to cut through enemies and defeat the bosses in all 9 areas.
Of course, as part of the “Soldiers” series, the game contains a good balance of fast-paced speed with catchy drum-prpelled background music. Couple that with the “Field Thunder” that can be used to destroy enemies in one fell swoop for the ultimate sense of satifaction! With its finely-tuned difficulty level, Blazing Lazers is a shooting game that anyone can enjoy!”
